Six days per week; schedule flexibility is required Benefits Medical benefits beginning on Day 1 Paid Time Off Paid holidays Contract-to-hire opportunity Position Summary Reliance One is seeking a Repair Technician to support third-shift production operations at the GM Flint Assembly Plant. The Repair Technician will troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair assembly tools used throughout the manufacturing process. When a tooling problem occurs on the assembly line, this individual will respond directly to the production area, identify the root cause, and complete the necessary repairs. The goal is to minimize equipment downtime and keep production running safely and efficiently. This role requires strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with production employees, supervisors, and plant leadership. Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to tooling breakdowns and production-line issues Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, and DC-powered assembly tools Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine their root causes Work directly with line operators and plant supervisors to resolve tooling-related problems Document repairs, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting efforts in the tooling management system Track tooling history, shipping status, and calibration processes Maintain accurate records and help ensure tools remain available for production Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement efforts Help reduce equipment downtime and improve manufacturing efficiency Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow plant safety requirements Required Qualifications At least two years of experience working with electrical, pneumatic, and/or DC-powered tooling in a manufacturing or production environment Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Basic computer proficiency and Ability to document repairs and manage tooling information in computerized systems Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Availability to work third shift and six-day workweeks Preferred Qualifications Industrial maintenance, machine maintenance, or equipment repair experience Automotive mechanic or automotive repair experience Experience repairing personal vehicles, machinery, tools, or production equipment Familiarity with tooling calibration and maintenance-tracking systems Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in troubleshooting and repairing equipment. Candidates with backgrounds in automotive repair, industrial maintenance, machine maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or tooling repair are encouraged to apply.
