Engineering | Product Development | Manufacturing Help Bring Innovative Products to Life Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a growing Northern Michigan manufacturer to hire an Engineering Lab Technician . In this role, you'll support engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams by designing, testing, and refining custom electric motors and air-moving assemblies used across a variety of industries. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with CAD experience who enjoys solving technical challenges, building prototypes, testing new ideas, and seeing products evolve from concept to production. If you enjoy combining engineering design with hands-on work, this role offers the best of both worlds. What You'll Be Doing In this position, you'll: Build, develop, and test sample motors and blower assemblies Create and revise production drawings using Autodesk CAD software Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) Assist with new product development and engineering projects Design, build, and evaluate prototypes Support engineering testing, product validation, and performance analysis Design tooling fixtures and manufacturing aids Update engineering drawings for production, quality, vendors, and customers Provide engineering support to manufacturing teams as products move into production What We're Looking For Successful candidates typically have: Minimum of one year of CAD experience Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred Experience using Autodesk or similar CAD software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively Strong communication and teamwork skills Desire to learn and contribute in a collaborative engineering environment Benefits May Include Benefits vary by employer but may include: Competitive starting pay based on experience Weekly pay Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Paid Time Off Holiday Pay 401(k) Professional development opportunities Career advancement potential Stable, full-time employment Why You'll Love This Opportunity Starting pay of $17.00-$20.00/hour based on experience Monday-Friday schedule with evenings and weekends free Contribute to new product development from concept through production Blend engineering design, CAD drafting, testing, and hands-on prototype work Collaborate directly with engineering and manufacturing teams Small, growing company where your ideas and contributions matter Long-term career growth in engineering and product development Real Talk This position combines office, engineering lab, and manufacturing floor responsibilities.
