Relocation assistance may be available based on location and offer terms. Role Type Full-Time About Our Client Our client is a building automation and controls services provider supporting large-scale, mission-critical data center programs across the United States. The company delivers controls integration, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting for hyperscale and enterprise data center facilities, working alongside general contractors, electrical and mechanical trades, IT teams, and facility owners. With active and upcoming projects in Mississippi, Arizona, Illinois, and North Carolina, the company is expanding its technical team and is committed to delivering reliable, high-performance building systems while developing its people through hands-on project experience and mentorship. Job Description The Senior BMS/BAS Controls Technician will work hands-on within Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) to configure, integrate, start up, and commission building automation systems on large data center projects. A typical day may include integrating controllers and field devices into EBO, performing point-to-point checkouts, running functional tests, troubleshooting communications issues, and working through deficiencies with programmers and other trades on site. Data centers depend on building automation systems to keep critical cooling and infrastructure running without interruption. This role ensures those systems are integrated correctly, tested thoroughly, and ready for operation, which directly affects project schedules, commissioning milestones, and long-term facility reliability. You will collaborate with controls programmers, electrical, mechanical, IT, and construction teams, and you will help train and guide junior technicians. This is not a programming-only role or a wiring-only role. The ideal candidate is an advanced controls technician who is comfortable working directly in building automation software, understands HVAC and controls hardware, and wants to continue building programming skills while taking on greater technical responsibility. Duties and Responsibilities Configure and integrate controllers, field devices, and equipment into Schneider Electric EBO. Support system startup, point-to-point checkout, functional testing, and commissioning. Troubleshoot device communications, network issues, system configurations, and controls-related problems. Work alongside controls programmers to implement, test, and troubleshoot system functionality. Read and interpret controls drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and sequences of operation. Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, IT, and construction teams to resolve integration issues. Document testing results, system deficiencies, and corrective actions. Train and mentor junior technicians and promote consistent technical practices. Support project schedules and commissioning milestones across multi-building data center programs. Required Experience/Skills Strong hands-on experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO). Experience with BMS/BAS device integration, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Ability to work directly within building automation software, not solely install wiring or terminate panels. Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and networked building controls. Understanding of HVAC equipment, sensors, actuators, and related controls. Experience working alongside controls programmers and an interest in developing programming skills. Ability to read controls drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation. Ability to work independently, communicate technical issues clearly, and collaborate with project teams. Willingness to work on site at one of the listed locations. Nice-to-Haves Experience in data centers or other mission-critical environments. Experience with ground-up construction and commissioning projects. Controls programming or program modification experience. Experience with Niagara N4 or other building automation platforms. Experience training or mentoring junior technicians. Electrical or instrumentation background that complements BMS/BAS software experience. Education High school diploma or GED required. Technical school training or a degree in HVAC, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or building automation is a plus. Pay & Benefits Summary Competitive pay based on experience and location Benefits package to be discussed during the interview process Relocation assistance may be available:
