Job Description

About Reboot Electronic Recycling Reboot Electronic Recycling is a growing IT asset disposition (ITAD) and secure data destruction company serving businesses, schools, and organizations across the United States. We help clients protect their data, recover value from retired equipment, and recycle electronics responsibly. The Role We are looking for a detail-oriented person to inspect and sort incoming electronics at our Mountainside warehouse. You will identify equipment that contains data storage, recognize items with resale value, and route each item to the correct processing team. Your work helps protect client information and keeps reusable equipment and valuable materials from being recycled and instead being refurbished and resold giving the device a second life. This is a hands-on warehouse role that also includes inventory entry and occasional assistance with pickups and work at client sites. We will train the right person. Responsibilities
  • Inspect and sort incoming computers, laptops, servers, phones, tablets, printers, networking equipment, AV equipment, and accessories.
  • Identify hard drives, SSDs, and equipment with embedded storage. Route all equipment containing data storage through the required secure data destruction process before resale or recycling.
  • Remove, label, and segregate storage media when required by company procedures, maintaining the link between each drive and its original asset.
  • Recognize equipment and accessories with potential resale value and route them to the testing and resale teams. Check for data storage even in less obvious items, such as networking and AV equipment.
  • Accurately enter asset details into our inventory and tracking system (ERP), including make, model, serial number, asset tag, and warehouse location.
  • Label and organize equipment in the correct containers and locations so processing teams can locate it quickly.
  • Follow data security, chain of custody, and safe handling procedures. Set aside items with uncertain storage, condition, or routing and ask a supervisor before proceeding.
  • Keep the sorting area organized and communicate with the data destruction, testing, resale, and warehouse teams.
  • Flag unusual or potentially high-value items for supervisor review and assist with warehouse work, pickups, and client projects as needed. Qualifications Required
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when identifying storage devices and recording serial numbers, asset tags, and locations.
  • Ability to learn how to recognize different types of electronics, storage devices, and reusable equipment.
  • Comfort with basic computer use and accurate data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Willingness to follow procedures consistently and ask questions when unsure. Preferred but not required
  • Experience in electronics, ITAD, electronics repair, warehouse operations, or inventory management.
  • Familiarity with computers, servers, networking equipment, hard drives, or other storage media.
  • Experience identifying used equipment value or working with resale platforms such as eBay.
  • Basic understanding of data security or chain of custody practices.
  • Direct ITAD experience is not required.
We welcome applicants with transferable skills and an interest in learning about electronics. Room to Grow You will learn how equipment moves through data destruction, testing, resale, and recycling. As Reboot grows, strong performers may have opportunities to advance into lead sorting, data destruction, testing and resale, or operations roles.
