Position Summary The PV Module Test Technician I is the entry point into GroundWork's Lab, working under direct supervision to help run the electrical safety, performance, and environmental exposure tests that validate PV modules against UL and IEC standards. About the Position As a Level I Technician, you will support test setup, module handling, and data recording under the direction of a Lead Technician or Test Engineer. This role is built for someone early in their career who wants hands-on lab experience and a clear path to more independent, technical work. Principal Responsibilities Assist with set-up of test equipment and fixtures (climate chambers, solar flasher, UV chambers, electrical and mechanical test equipment) under direct supervision Transport, load, and unload PV modules into test equipment and field test devices Run tests as directed and monitor equipment during test cycles, flagging anomalies to a Lead Technician Record raw data in databases and spreadsheets accurately and on schedule Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test floor, including basic equipment upkeep Follow established test procedures and safety protocols without deviation Complete assigned training modules to build Level II competencies Required Experience and Education High school diploma or GED Comfort using spreadsheets and basic computer applications (MS Office) Willingness to learn test equipment, safety procedures, and lab protocols Ability to work in personal protective equipment and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructions closely Additional Desirable Qualifications Coursework toward an Associate degree in a technical or engineering field Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or lab environment Basic familiarity with electrical or mechanical hand tools Approach to Work Aligns with GroundWork's values: Trustworthy, Caring, Knowledgeable, Trailblazing, Nimble, and Meticulous Shows up with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to be coached Follows direction closely and asks questions when a procedure is unclear Communicates clearly with the Lead Technician about progress and issues GroundWork is a Certified B Corporation and proud equal opportunity employer.
