Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Flare Technician, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of flare systems within industrial facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems to maintain and troubleshoot complex equipment. As a Flare Technician, you will be instrumental in supporting safety protocols, optimizing system performance, and contributing to the overall success of our operations. Your hands-on skills and proactive approach will help us uphold the highest standards of safety, reliability, and environmental compliance. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on flare systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and control system diagrams. Perform calibration and testing of sensors, instrumentation, and control devices to ensure accurate operation. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and industrial automation tools to monitor and adjust system performance. Repair and replace electrical components such as sensors, relays, switches, motors, high voltage equipment, and low voltage systems following electrical safety procedures. Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately for installation or troubleshooting purposes. Support field service activities by installing new equipment using AutoCAD drawings or engineering specifications while adhering to safety standards. Skills Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and mechanical maintenance techniques. Experience with industrial electrician tasks including electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems. Familiarity with electrical instrumentation, calibration procedures, sensors, electrical safety protocols, and high/low voltage systems. Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, schematics, blueprints (including AutoCAD drawings), and engineering troubleshooting documentation. Hands-on experience with industrial controls such as PLCs (including programming in engineering environments), DCS platforms like Calypso or similar systems. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters for diagnostics. Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to flare system operation along with experience in industrial automation and equipment maintenance. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment troubleshooting and maintenance planning. Excellent customer service skills to coordinate effectively with team members and external contractors during field service activities.
