Senior Automation Maintenance Specialist

Job Description

About the Role As a Senior Automation Maintenance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the peak performance and reliability of complex automated systems within our high-volume distribution environment. You will leverage your technical expertise in PLC troubleshooting and electromechanical systems to maximize equipment uptime and drive operational efficiency. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure automated equipment operates within manufacturer specifications. Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with conveyor systems, sorters, VFDs, and robotic picking equipment to minimize downtime. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Manage the lifecycle of critical spare parts, including identification, procurement, and inventory organization. Document maintenance activities, work orders, and time logs with precision to support data-driven operational insights. Interpret intricate electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to perform accurate system repairs. Proactively identify and mitigate safety risks, ensuring all maintenance activities strictly adhere to LOTO and facility safety protocols. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or warehouse maintenance. Advanced proficiency in troubleshooting PLC-controlled automation and electromechanical systems. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams. Experience operating heavy equipment, including scissor or boom lifts at heights up to 50 feet. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting. Preferred Skills Degree or professional certification in an industrial maintenance or automation field. Hands-on experience with AMR, modular picking, and print-and-apply labeling systems. Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within a maintenance team. Familiarity with programming or advanced configuration of industrial control systems.
