At Denkavit USA in Auburn, the Electro-Mchanical Technician plays a key hands-on role in ensuring equipment reliability, safe operations, and optimal production continuity. Position Summary The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment within a manufacturing or industrial facility. This role supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and promoting a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, and control circuits. Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, chains, belts, and power transmission systems. Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals. Install, test, and commission new machinery and production equipment. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation, sensors, and controls. Perform root cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring equipment failures. Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures. Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance. Maintain an organized work area and ensure proper inventory of maintenance parts and supplies. Required Qualifications Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field. 2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or electro-mechanical experience preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial automation systems. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and calibrators. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar). Experience with robotics, automated systems, and vision systems. Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or Electrical Technology. Welding and fabrication experience. Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environments. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts as required. Ability to safely work at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
