Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Field Service Technician specializing in Industrial Electrical & Automation for a leading client in the professional, scientific, and technical services sector. In this role, you'll install, commission, and troubleshoot industrial electrical and automation systems at client sites. Responsibilities include PLC and VFD diagnostics, control panel wiring, preventative maintenance, and detailed service documentation. You'll collaborate closely with engineering teams, provide on-site technical support, and ensure safe, timely resolutions that keep client operations running at peak performance. Responsibilities Install, commission, and service industrial electrical and automation systems at client sites Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control panels to minimize downtime Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and control equipment Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings Document service activities, findings, and recommendations in detailed reports Collaborate with engineering and project teams to implement system upgrades or modifications Train and support client personnel on equipment operation and basic troubleshooting Follow all safety protocols, electrical codes, and site-specific requirements Maintain tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory for field work Provide responsive, customer-focused technical support and issue resolution Required Skills Industrial electrical troubleshooting PLC programming and diagnostics VFD setup and tuning Reading electrical schematics Control panel wiring and layout Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profi Net) Preventive and corrective maintenance Use of electrical test equipment Field service documentation Customer-facing technical support
