Maint Tech - 3rd Shift

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations. Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, including air and water supply systems. Routinely inspect machinery performance, clean and lubricate components, complete preventative maintenance, and perform diagnostics to minimize breakdowns. Respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions. Work with AC, DC, and Servo Drives & Motors, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and Closed Loop Control Systems. Dismantle machinery, remove or replace defective parts, and ensure proper reassembly. Provide training to production workers on routine preventative maintenance tasks. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and communicate with management to ensure upkeep and compliance. Be available for on-call duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
2-3 years in Industrial Maintenance.
Technical Skills:
Troubleshooting electrical issues related to drives, contactors, and control circuits. Comfortable using a multimeter to diagnose issues and follow power systems to failure points. Ability to read electrical schematics and trace wiring, with an understanding of 480V and 240V three-phase electrical systems. Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum and lubrication pumps, valves, and general plumbing. Welding (MIG/TIG) experience or willingness to become proficient. Basic understanding of PLC systems & Ladder Logic (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron). Forklift license or willingness to obtain one.
Knowledge of Safety Procedures:
NFPA 70E
compliance. Lockout/tagout procedures. Confined space and hot work permit adherence. Work Environment & Physical Demands Requires heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work comprises more than 70% of job responsibilities. Exposure to industrial elements such as water, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, and unpleasant odors. Work involves potential hazards, requiring adherence to safety protocols and procedures. Additional Responsibilities Attend service calls and provide quality workmanship efficiently. Maintain and repair plant equipment, including hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyor systems, servo drives/motors, automated manufacturing equipment, bearings, motion controls, sewing/textile equipment, and control systems. Use mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics to assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Install, modify, and update equipment as required. Document repairs and maintenance activities in the CMMS system. Perform preventive maintenance tasks effectively to minimize equipment downtime. Assist in automation efforts by specifying and selecting control equipment for process instrumentation. Ensure operational viability of the plant by evaluating and maintaining electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Adhere to and actively participate in lockout/tagout practices while working with the Safety Director to maintain compliance. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with PLC/DCS and HMI architecture for troubleshooting. Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, and drives. Experience in determining electrical hazards, isolating circuits, and safely repairing electrical systems. Experience with robotic and automated systems.
