West Mifflin, PA, US 2026-08-25 01:34:08 Engineering & Science Support Apply Now Back to results About Us Job Description The NNL electrical community maintains a suite of laboratories that are used to qualify Reactor Plant Instrumentation and Control (RPI&C) software and hardware, enable swift response to fleet support activities, and to support crew familiarization with RPI&C systems. The Bettis Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) RPI&C infrastructure team is responsible for maintaining and modernizing the existing RPI&C test system infrastructure at Bettis site and, in close collaboration with counterparts across the program, developing, testing, qualifying, and delivering the test infrastructure for the next generation of RPI&C systems. The Bettis Infrastructure Development (BID) unit is looking for an entry level Technician in pursuit of the mission described above. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to executing common laboratory functions such as support of testing, troubleshooting, coordination and/or performance of periodic facility tests and preventative maintenance required to support a fully capable laboratory, executing work packages required to maintain and modernize the lab's test systems and test articles, ensuring that work packages are performed safely and in compliance with company and Program requirements, managing the calibration of test equipment and inventories of parts and equipment. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or Journeymans Papers in a related field; or Qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent). Preferred Skills Interest in Control Systems. Knowledge of practices to plan and execute operations work including electrical work. Effective time management.
