Job Description

PURVIS has an immediate opening for an Engineering Technician. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented technician with experience in electronic and electromechanical assembly, production cable fabrication, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting. They should be comfortable reading schematics and technical drawings, working independently with limited supervision, and supporting engineers in a fast-paced technical environment. \n The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include: Provides technical support for engineering activities involving the design, testing, troubleshooting, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems and equipment. Performs testing, checkout, installation, and troubleshooting using schematics, technical drawings, diagrams, layouts, written procedures, and verbal instructions. Identifies equipment or system malfunctions and assists in determining appropriate corrective actions and repair methods. Collects, organizes, maintains, and analyzes technical data to support engineering, production, and testing activities. Supports the fabrication, assembly, wiring, and integration of electronic and electromechanical components, including production cable assemblies. Prepares and maintains engineering and technical documentation, including reports, drawings, sketches, flowcharts, diagrams, schematics, and test documentation. Performs routine assignments independently with limited supervision. Receives general direction for new tasks, complex work, or special assignments.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in a related technical discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience fabricating and assembling production cables and cable harnesses. Hands-on experience wiring, assembling, and troubleshooting electronic equipment and components. Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic and electromechanical systems using schematics and technical drawings . \n Candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of SECRET.
