What to Expect Tesla is seeking a skilled Wire Harness Technician to support production assembly of high-reliability wire harnesses and discrete wire assemblies. This role requires hands-on expertise in interconnect systems, connectors, soldering, schematic interpretation, and troubleshooting to deliver quality assemblies that meet engineering and reliability standards. What You'll Do Display a positive attitude and practice a strong work ethic that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of Tesla Assemble, inspect, and process discrete wire assemblies, wire interconnects, and connectors in accordance with drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions in a production environment Install and operate data acquisition equipment and other instrumentation to support accurate test setup and wiring Interpret connector pin-outs, electrical schematics, and CAD drawings to support accurate test setup, wiring, and issue diagnosis Record, analyze, and document test data; report issues found during troubleshooting and work closely with Process, Product, and Design Engineering for feedback and resolution Perform electrical troubleshooting on interconnect setups, wiring, connectors, and related systems using diagnostic tools, multimeters, testers, visual inspection, and schematics Support the development of troubleshooting plans and methods to ensure reliability, structural, and engineering targets are met, while assisting with additional projects as business needs evolve What You'll Bring Proven hands-on experience assembling discrete wire harnesses, interconnects, and connectors in a production setting, including soldering of wires, terminals, and through-hole/SMT components; prior experience in automotive, aerospace, or high-volume electronics manufacturing environments is strongly preferred Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, connector pin-outs, wiring diagrams, and CAD drawings, with familiarity with basic CAD viewing tools Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for wiring, connector, and harness issues using multimeters, testers, and visual inspection Knowledge of or certification in
IPC J-STD
standards (e.g., IPC-J-STD-001 for soldering) and/or
IPC/WHMA-A-620
