Job Description

About JM Test Systems JM Test Systems provides calibration, test and measurement equipment, and technical services across multiple business segments and service locations. We help customers in industrial, energy, manufacturing, and other demanding environments keep critical instruments accurate, compliant, and ready to perform. Job Summary — The Opportunity Our customers count on their test and measurement equipment to be accurate, because their safety, quality, and compliance depend on it. As a Calibration Lab Technician I, you'll help make sure every instrument that leaves our lab performs exactly as it should. In this role, you will clean, inspect, calibrate, repair, and certify instruments across electrical, dimensional, physical, mechanical, and optical disciplines. You'll start in our in-house metrology lab, learning hands-on from our Lab Manager, Technical Manager, and Lead Technicians, and you'll also support onsite work at customer locations, putting your skills to work in the field. This is an ideal starting point for someone with a solid foundation in math, a curiosity about how things work, and the discipline to follow procedures carefully. Whether you're coming from a technical program, the military, or a related field, we'll help you build a career in calibration. Key Responsibilities & Outcomes
  • Calibrate and certify instruments. Assess each instrument's condition, perform calibrations using established procedures, and verify it meets performance standards before it goes back to the customer.
  • Find and fix problems. Analyze measurement data to spot out-of-tolerance conditions and trends, then correct them through adjustments, component replacement, or correction factors.
  • Deliver accurate documentation. Record calibration data and prepare complete, accurate reports and certificates that customers can rely on.
  • Keep work organized and on schedule. Review daily assignments, set priorities, and complete work and paperwork on time.
  • Grow your technical skills. Learn new calibration disciplines, help develop procedures and data sheets, and adapt equipment and techniques for unique measurements as your experience grows.
  • Maintain a safe, professional workspace. Keep work areas, staging areas, and onsite trailers clean and organized, and transport equipment and supplies safely.
  • Support onsite work and represent JM Test Systems. Travel to customer sites to perform calibration work in the field, working as part of a team and providing excellent service in the lab and onsite. What You Bring
Required:
High school diploma or GED.
    Required:
Comfort with general math, algebra, and basic statistics, plus basic computer skills.
      Required:
Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical calibration procedures, and to work independently once trained.
        Required:
Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
          Required:
Ability to travel for onsite work, with a valid driver's license and the ability to drive.
            Required:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in lab, plant, and outdoor settings in varying conditions.
              Preferred:
Associate's degree, technical school, or military training in measurement science, calibration, or electronics, or experience calibrating electronic, physical, dimensional, or mechanical equipment. Why JM Test Systems? You'll join a lab that maintains
              ISO/IEC 17025
