MWD Electronics Technician
Job Description
Overview Pulse Directional Technologies USA is seeking a detail-oriented MWD Electronics Technician to join our production and repair team at our Humble, Texas office. In this role, you will bridge the gap between delicate electronics assembly and mechanical tool build outs for our advanced Measurement While Drilling (MWD) downhole systems. Your technical expertise in building, soldering, and diagnosing complex electronic components will directly ensure the high field-reliability of our directional drilling technologies. Key Responsibilities

Electronics & Wire Assembly:
Populate production and prototype PCBs; expertly solder wiring harnesses for downhole and surface equipment.

Mechanical Assembly:
Assemble, disassemble, and configure mechanical tool components for MWD downhole equipment.
•
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
Conduct detailed diagnostics and component-level testing on MWD electronics, boards, and sensors to isolate and resolve faults.

Technical Blueprint Analysis:
Read and interpret electronic schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to execute precise manufacturing and assembly procedures.

System Testing:
Run functional test cycles and quality checks on completed tools to maintain strict measurement accuracy strictly according to production manuals.
•
Documentation & Quality Control:
Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance activities for quality control. Qualifications & Skills
•
Education:
College diploma or technical certificate in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronics Assembly, or a closely related field.
•
Professional Experience:
Proven experience as a service technician or electronics technician with a strong background in electrical troubleshooting.
•
Diagnostic Tools:
Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized testing devices.
•
Hybrid Technical Aptitude:
Proven experience balancing delicate electronic soldering/assembly with mechanical tool integration.
•
Schematic Mastery:
Strong background with sensitive electronic components, interpreting complex schematics, and following technical drawings.
•
Precision Mechanical Assembly:
Experience performing high-tolerance mechanical builds using hand tools and specialized equipment.
•
Problem Solving:
Strong troubleshooting capabilities with a detail-oriented mindset to identify assembly or board-level defects proactively
Pay:
$20.00 - $29.78 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
