Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic PLC Controls Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing industrial automation systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, and control panels. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of manufacturing equipment, enhance system reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair PLC control systems and associated electrical components using detailed electrical schematics, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and control schematics. Perform electrical diagnostics on complex industrial equipment, including sensors, vision inspection systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and high-voltage controls. Calibrate sensors and instrumentation to ensure precise operation within manufacturing processes. Conduct preventative maintenance on industrial controls, pneumatic systems, hydraulic machinery, and mechanical components to minimize downtime. Read electrical blueprints and schematics accurately to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions swiftly. Program, modify, and optimize PLCs using engineering programming standards to improve automation efficiency. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, calipers, and multimeters to perform accurate troubleshooting and maintenance tasks. Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment. Support field service operations by diagnosing electrical problems on-site and providing technical guidance for repairs or upgrades. Assist in the calibration of equipment and sensors to maintain optimal performance across production lines. Experience Proven experience in industrial electrician work with a strong background in electrical troubleshooting within manufacturing or industrial environments. Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar automation platforms. Knowledge of electrical instrumentation including sensors, vision systems, low voltage and high voltage controls. Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems used in industrial automation settings. Ability to read complex electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and control diagrams accurately. Experience with calibration procedures for industrial sensors and instrumentation devices. Strong mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing machinery. Competence in using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, calipers, field meters, and vision inspection systems. Understanding of electrical safety procedures aligned with industry standards for high voltage and low voltage systems. Prior experience working with distributed control systems (DCS), CNC machinery, or other automation technologies is a plus.
