Job Description

Corporate Engineering Team Take ownership of automation. Drive plant performance. Lead continuous improvement. Are you an Electrical Engineer who enjoys being hands-on with automation while also influencing the future of manufacturing technology? We are seeking a motivated engineer to join our Corporate Engineering team, where you'll serve as the electrical and controls expert at a manufacturing facility while partnering across the organization to deliver innovative automation solutions and capital projects. This is an opportunity to move beyond day-to-day support and become a key technical leader responsible for automation ownership, controls standardization, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to develop solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and performance. What You'll Do Automation & Controls Leadership Serve as the facility's subject matter expert for electrical controls and automation systems Design, develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems Lead controls improvements that enhance equipment reliability, throughput, and safety Establish and support controls standardization initiatives across manufacturing operations Drive automation solutions that support long-term business objectives Capital Project Support Lead electrical and controls aspects of capital projects Develop control system architecture, specifications, and implementation plans Support equipment installations, upgrades, startups, and commissioning activities Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution Plant Support & Continuous Improvement Partner closely with Maintenance and Operations teams to resolve equipment and process issues Provide advanced troubleshooting support for electrical and controls-related challenges Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation enhancements, and cost savings Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and operational excellence Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to improve plant performance Provide technical guidance and training related to controls and automation systems Support the development and implementation of engineering standards and best practices What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in: Electrical controls PLC programming HMI development Circuit design Manufacturing environments Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and control systems Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing or food manufacturing experience Experience with packaging automation and automated production equipment Knowledge of capital project execution and equipment commissioning Understanding of industrial networking, instrumentation, and control systems
