THE POSITION
Sr Electrical Engineer, Continental Tire The Americas, LLC, Mount Vernon, IL:
Install, integrate, and troubleshoot Continental's MES systems. Provide specialized controls and troubleshooting support for hardware and software. Conduct training for maintenance team and coordinate with the training department on new systems and features implemented on machines. Plan and execute projects to upgrade legacy equipment. Backup, protect, and maintain the software of control systems, such as IPCs (Industrial Personal Computers) and PLCs (Programable Logic Controllers). Coordinate and support local and central project team for machine install projects in all acceptance phases: Installation, Commissioning, PMA (Preliminary Machine Acceptance), and FMA (Final Machine Acceptance). Analyze data from machines to find bugs in the PLC software and implement patches to resolve these bugs. Present weekly updates on current projects to team and upper management. This position is required to be on-call 24/7 to support critical machine fixes at the plant (working outside normal hours 2 times (3 hours each) every 4 weeks, on average). Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $99,526.00 to $131,135.00 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field and 2 years of work experience in electrical engineering in a manufacturing facility. Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Using Beckhoff TwinCAT 2 and Allen Bradley RSLogix & Studio 5000 to program and troubleshoot PLC programs; Using Beckhoff TwinSAFE; and Networking with Transmission Control Protocol /Internet Protocol and EtherCAT protocols. Must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: Integrating and troubleshooting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES); Using Siemens Step7 & TIA Portal to program and troubleshoot Programable Logic Controller (PLC) programs; Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture (OPC UA) communication; RFID technology for material/stock or tooling validation (High Frequency or Ultra High Frequency); Using Visual Studio to develop Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) applications in C#; Analyzing data in Structured Query Language (SQL); Using Acronis or similar software for fullimage or incremental backup and restoration; and Providing training to colleagues on industrial automation equipment.
