This position will provide technical expertise in electrical controls, automation, PLCs, motor controls, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems while partnering closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Safety teams. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, improve safety, and optimize manufacturing processes through effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs, root-cause analysis, and engineering improvements. Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of electrical and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, HMIs, and other industrial automation components.
• Support maintenance personnel in diagnosing complex electrical and controls-related equipment failures.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and automated equipment.
• Analyze equipment failures and downtime to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with the design, modification, installation, and commissioning of electrical control systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control documentation, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation.
• Support PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modifications as required.
• Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades, replacements, or modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Work with Maintenance and Production to minimize unplanned equipment downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Participate in capital projects involving electrical systems, automation, controls, machinery, and facility infrastructure.
• Assist with equipment start-up, commissioning, testing, and validation.
• Coordinate with outside contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers on electrical and automation projects.
• Ensure electrical maintenance activities comply with applicable OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and company safety requirements.
• Support machine safety initiatives, including electrical safety, controls safety, guarding, and safety circuits.
• Participate in troubleshooting and emergency response for critical equipment breakdowns.
• Analyze maintenance data and identify trends that may indicate developing equipment or reliability issues.
• Recommend and implement engineering solutions to improve equipment uptime, productivity, quality, and safety.
• Assist with spare-parts identification and inventory requirements for critical electrical and automation components.
• Provide technical training and guidance to maintenance technicians and other employees as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment modifications, and engineering changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of electrical engineering, controls, automation, or industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Preventive/predictive Maintenance building PM schedules; vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis
• Experience with P&IDs, Panel Layouts, HMIs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor controls, sensors, and industrial automation.
• Ability to read and interpret National Electrical Code Compliance; local/state code familiarity
• PLC programming troubleshooting: Ladder logic, function block, structured text
• Working knowledge of OSHA electrical safety requirements and applicable

NFPA/NEC

standards.

• Ability to work effectively with maintenance technicians, engineers, production personnel, vendors, and management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with robotics and automated manufacturing systems.
• Experience with PLC programming and controls-system troubleshooting.
• Experience with electrical panel design and modification.
• Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols.
• Experience with CMMS systems and computerized maintenance programs.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with machine safety systems and safety PLCs.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure is a plus.
