Job Description

Control Systems Engineer Location:
Graham, Kentucky About the Opportunity We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support for control, automation, and safety instrumented systems associated with a major new manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity to join a greenfield manufacturing project and play a key role in designing, installing, commissioning, and optimizing the facility's control systems. Following startup, this position will transition into a site-based controls engineering role supporting ongoing plant operations and reliability. What You'll Do Provide engineering oversight for control system architecture and design from FEED through implementation. Review EPCM control philosophies, specifications, cause-and-effect documentation, and system designs. Ensure control systems meet applicable safety, cybersecurity, engineering, and operational standards . Support SIL assessments and Safety Instrumented System (SIS) design . Participate in safety validation, verification, and functional testing. Provide field engineering support during installation, instrument checkout, and loop checking . Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities. Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues throughout commissioning and startup. Support the development of alarm management strategies, operator interfaces, and system training . Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade control and automation systems. Support system tuning, modifications, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist with the long-term lifecycle management of automation and control system assets . Partner with engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams to improve system reliability and plant performance. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering , or a related field. 5+ years of experience with industrial control and automation systems. Experience in chemical manufacturing, industrial processing, or similar environments preferred. Experience with DCS, SIS, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communication networks . Working knowledge of IEC 61511 and functional safety principles . Previous experience with commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and controls integration preferred. Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams. Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement .
