Job Description

Electrical EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and validate embedded hardware for robust electronic systems. The role focuses on schematic capture, PCB layout, component-level design, and hands-on development for products that interface via UART, PCIe, Ethernet, USB and I2C. The successful candidate will work across the full hardware development lifecycle from requirements and BOM creation to prototype bring-up, EMI/EMC mitigation, and documentation for production and certification (including MIL-STD where applicable).Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop embedded hardware including schematic capture and PCB layout using tools such as Altium and Altera workflows.

Collaborate with firmware and systems engineers to define interfaces and integrate microcontrollers, peripherals and high-speed interfaces (UART, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, I2C).Create, maintain and optimize Bills of Materials (BOM) and component selection to meet cost, manufacturability and reliability targets.

Perform component-level design, signal integrity and power delivery analysis for mixed-signal and high-speed designs; implement EMI/EMC mitigation strategies.

Prototype, assemble and perform bring-up and validation testing of PCBs; debug hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other lab equipment.

Generate design documentation including schematics, PCB fabrication files, test procedures, and support production handoff.

Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to resolve component obsolescence, sourcing, and DFM/DFT concerns.

Support certification, reliability testing and MIL-STD compliance activities when required.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews, continuous improvement and cross-functional engineering efforts.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Masters preferred.3+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium experience strongly preferred).Practical experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems (PIC and other MCU families).Hands-on experience with high-speed interfaces and protocols: UART, PCIe, Ethernet, USB and I2C.Demonstrated knowledge of EMI/EMC principles and mitigation techniques; experience with EMC testing and design for compliance.

Experience with Bill of Materials creation and management, component-level selection and lifecycle considerations (BOM processes).Familiarity with FPGA/Altera design workflows, signal integrity considerations and timing constraints.

Solid debugging skills using lab instrumentation and proven ability to perform prototype bring-up and troubleshooting.

Experience with MIL-STD or other defense/aerospace standards is a plus.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
