• 5:00 PM Job Responsibilities
• Lead and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of facility instrumentation, automation, and safety systems.
• Contribute to proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
• Design facility control systems, fire alarm systems, chemical controls, Toxic Gas Monitoring (TGM), and SCADA.
• Develop P&IDs, loop drawings, and detailed wiring diagrams, and initiate Sequence of Operation (SOO) documents.
• Size and select instruments, control devices, and valves, and prepare their data sheets.
• Review vendor submittals and design deliverables for compliance with client requirements, codes, and standards.
• Participate in technical and business presentations with clients and internal teams. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an associated Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• 6+ years of industrial control systems engineering and design experience.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems, industrial networks, cybersecurity, motor control, and power distribution systems.
• Experience designing PLC-based systems involving Allen-Bradley, Schneider Modicon, and Siemens.
• Understanding of NFPA 70 and UL 508A.
• Past design and engineering experience with facility core-and-shell instrumentation.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary environments. Preferred Qualifications
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in Virginia.
• 2+ years of experience with semiconductor manufacturing tools through design, installation, or cleanroom use.
• Familiarity with BIM and CAD platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and project scheduling and delivery tools.
• Experience leading teams and managing engineering design efforts.
• Industrial design experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, data centers, or similar environments.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary and global teams.
• Interest in learning, innovation, and continuous improvement, and in buildings, construction, and engineered systems. Work Environment
• Fieldwork may involve walking long distances, climbing ladders, and working in active construction environments.
• Travel may be required.
• Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.
