BIM Designer II - Electrical Construction Take Your BIM Career to the Next LevelAre you an experienced BIM Designer ready to move beyond basic modeling and take on greater responsibility in the delivery of complex electrical construction projects? This is an exciting opportunity for a Bim Designer II to join a growing Virtual Design & Construction team and play a key role in transforming electrical designs into highly coordinated, constructible models used by project teams and field professionals. You'll work on sophisticated commercial construction projects while collaborating with Project Managers, Estimators, VDC professionals, engineers, and field teams. Your work will directly influence constructability, coordination, prefabrication, installation, and project execution.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a BIM Designer II, you will take a more advanced role in developing and coordinating electrical BIM models from design through construction.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop, maintain, and coordinate detailed Revit models for complex electrical construction projects. Create and manage Revit views, sheets, schedules, families, templates, linked models, and central models. Interpret construction drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and project requirements to develop accurate models. Coordinate conduit, cable tray, equipment, electrical systems, and other building components within the BIM environment. Perform model reviews and support clash detection and resolution using Navisworks. Identify potential constructability issues early and work with project teams to develop solutions before they reach the field. Collaborate with Project Managers, VDC teams, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure models accurately support construction. Develop prefabrication-ready models and detailed layout information for field installation. Produce coordinated drawings, installation layouts, revisions, and record/as-built documentation. Generate and export files for field layout and construction use. Maintain model accuracy, project standards, naming conventions, and version control. Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for model sharing, coordination, collaboration, and project information management. Assist with coordination meetings, clash reports, model updates, and issue resolution. Help establish and maintain BIM standards and best practices across projects. Provide technical support to field and project teams when BIM or coordination issues arise. Help mentor less-experienced BIM team members and contribute to improving modeling and coordination processes. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of BIM/Revit experience, preferably within electrical construction. Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Navisworks. Experience modeling electrical systems in a commercial construction environment. Understanding of electrical construction, including conduit, cable tray, equipment, and installation requirements. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft 365 applications. Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is strongly preferred. Experience supporting clash detection, coordination, prefabrication, or field layout is highly desirable. Attention to detail and ability to identify potential coordination issues. Communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Willingness to work onsite as needed and travel approximately 5-10%. Experience with healthcare, industrial, commercial, mission-critical, or other technically complex projects is a plus. Why This Is a Great Opportunity This isn't simply a Revit modeling position. You'll have the opportunity to see your work move from the computer screen to the actual jobsitehelping construction teams coordinate systems, eliminate clashes, improve prefabrication, and install electrical systems more efficiently. You'll gain exposure to the complete BIM/VDC lifecycle, including: Modeling Coordination Clash Detection Constructability Prefabrication Field Installation For an experienced BIM professional who wants to expand their technical capabilities and build a long-term career in VDC, BIM, digital construction, or electrical construction technology, this role provides an opportunity to take on more challenging work and make a measurable impact on major projects.
