McCord Engineering, Inc. is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our firm in College Station, TX. The firm is involved with electrical distribution projects. The position will be primarily involved with assisting with electric distribution designs for our clients. Most projects involve working directly with our engineering staff to provide engineering services to our clients, which includes municipal utilities, cooperatives and private entities.

Overhead power line construction staking & inventory
Overhead and power line plan and profile design
Underground power line plan and profile design
Underground Residential Distribution designs
Retail and commercial electric distribution designs
Be proficient at Computer Aided Drafting (AutoCAD)
Prepare material specifications Able to follow detailed direction from engineering staff in one, or more, of the following areas: overhead and underground distribution line design, system mapping, assembly unit construction specifications, material specifications Provide interpretation of NEC and NESC codes, standards, regulations and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Knowledge of:
Electrical power systems NEC and NESC code books Computer applications: MS Office and Computer Aided Drafting (AutoCAD) Ability to: Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Prepare design drawings for customers and construction teams. Prepare plans and specifications, neatly and accurately. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Experience:
1-5 years' experience preferably within the Electric Utility industry
Education:
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electrical Power Technology is preferred
Pay:
$25.00 - $45.00 per hour
