• $103,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Teamwork Oil & gas Industrial equipment 3D modeling Project leadership Full Job Description Position Summary Nyati Engineering is seeking an accomplished Senior Electrical & Instrument (E&I) Designer with an approximate minimum of 15 years of experience preferably in the design of oil & gas facilities including compressor stations with gas processing; however, experience in other industries will be considered.

This role is ideal for a seasoned designer who brings deep technical expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to lead the design e/orts of complex projects from concept through installation. The successful candidate will serve as a technical authority, mentor junior designers, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, e/icient, and installation-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Electrical/Instrumentation Design:

• Serve as a senior E&I designer for facility engineering e/orts in various industries, including oil & gas. Projects and associated project deliverables will also encompass modular electrical building design and equipment skids across industrial, commercial, datacenter, and energy-sector projects.
• Develop and validate electrical concepts, ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and constructability requirements.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards.
• Develop electrical design deliverables including electrical hazardous area classification plans, electrical plan drawings, panel schedules, lighting plans, cable tray plans, and electrical installation details.
• Develop instrument design deliverables including instrument location plans, instrument installation details, and wiring diagrams between the field instruments and PLC.
• Develop miscellaneous interconnecting wiring diagrams including communications, fiber optic, and field instrumentation signals.
• Develop detailed "fabrication-ready" PLC-based control system panel, remote I/O (RIO) panel, and junction box bill of materials, layouts, and associated wiring diagrams.
• Develop or maintain the E&I cable schedule.
• Develop overall network architecture block diagrams.
• Has strong P&ID literacy and solid understanding of its symbology

Project Execution & Quality Assurance:

• Develop E&I deliverables inclusive of calculations, drawings, specifications, and installation details.
• Maintains a high level of attention to detail and will conduct and approve design reviews ensuring technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements per NFPA 70, client specified requirements, and other project specifics.
• Provide expert guidance on constructability, material selection, and installation methods.
• Facilitate the resolution of complex technical issues during design, fabrication, and installation.
• Strictly adheres to project budgets, scopes, and schedules.
• Facilitates or validates the manhour estimation for proposal development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• E/ectively coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, and fabrication and installation teams to ensure e/icient project execution.
• Work closely with the engineering team and other stakeholders to design, fabricate, and integrate E&I equipment and its installation.

Fabrication, Installation, & Field Support:

• Provide engineering design support during fabrication or site installation from the o/ice, fabrication site, or work site, as needed.
• Be capable of conducting site visits to verify installation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure structural integrity.

Travel is estimated at no more than 10%.

Mentorship & Organizational Impact:

• Mentor junior and mid-level designers, providing guidance on methods, design practices, and professional development.
• Contribute to the optimization and development of internal standards, templates, and best practices for modular and prefabricated structural design.
• Support business development by contributing technical expertise to proposals and client discussions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is preferred, but applicable industry experience is just as valuable.
• Approximately 15+ years of broad, practical experience in E&I design.
• Highly knowledgeable of applicable codes, standards, and AHJ requirements (NFPA, NEMA, API, UL, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, technical, and documentation skills.
• Highly proficient with AutoCAD for the development of E&I design drawings and details

  Highly experienced in the oil & gas industry

  Experience with BlueBeam PDF session redlines

$84,800.00
