• Everett, Washington

• Full-time Reports to: Engineering Manager Partners across: Engineering, Production, and Service (Repair & Calibration)

SECTION 1

Why should you join Fluke Health Solutions? Be the hands-on technical bridge between design, the production floor, and the service bench. As an Engineering Technician in Everett, you build and validate the test stations, run the first article inspections, and lead the hands-on investigation when a part or unit lands in MRB. You work across all three worlds — supporting Engineering with builds and data, Production with process and test capability, and Service with root-cause on field returns. The instruments you help qualify verify that the medical devices caring for patients are accurate, so the rigor you bring shows up in patient care. This is a technical depth role with visibility across the entire Everett operation and a clear path toward senior technician, technologist, or engineering roles inside Fortive.

SECTION 2

What this role entails Inspection and qualification Execute first article inspections (FAI/AS9102-style) on new and changed parts, assemblies, and suppliers; document dimensional, functional, and visual results and drive disposition. Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection support using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM or vision systems, and functional test. Support process and equipment validation activities as drafted by senior engineers —

IQ/OQ/PQ

protocol execution, data collection, and report drafting under

ISO 13485 / FDA 21 CFR 820.

Support test method validation, gauge R&R, and measurement system analysis. Test stations and tooling Assist with building, installing, validating, and maintaining production and service test stations, fixtures, and tooling; own station documentation, configuration control, and calibration status. Troubleshoot test station failures and false rejects to root cause with support from test engineering; distinguish product issues from station issues and drive the fix. Recommend improvements to test procedures and work instructions; support test software and script updates in partnership with Engineering. Maintain station uptime and capability metrics; lead preventive maintenance and spares readiness for test assets. MRB, nonconformance, and root cause Lead the hands-on technical investigation on MRB defects and nonconforming material, with guidance from manufacturing / test engineers as needed — teardown, measurement, functional characterization, and failure analysis. Present findings and recommended disposition (use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap, return to supplier) to the MRB with supporting data. Support CAPA, 8D, and 5-Why investigations across Production and Service; verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. Analyze field return and repair data with Service to identify recurring failure modes and feed them back to Engineering. Engineering, production, and service support

Support NPI:

pilot and first-article builds, prototype assembly, design verification testing, and transfer-to-production readiness. Provide floor-side technical support to Production and Service technicians — troubleshooting, setup assistance, and on-the-spot problem solving. Execute engineering change activity on the floor: verify ECO implementation, update documentation, and confirm effectivity. Collect, organize, and present technical data — yield, defect Pareto, test capability, and trend analysis — to support decisions. Improvement Facilitate escalations from Tier 1 and Tier 2 Daily Management to engineering team. Identify and drive Kaizen on test flow, fixture design, inspection methods, and documentation quality; sustain gains with standard work and visual controls. Recommend and implement design-for-manufacturability and design-for-serviceability improvements based on what you see at the bench.

SECTION 3

What we are looking for A. Qualifications 2+ years as an engineering, test, manufacturing, or quality technician in an electronics, instrumentation, or medical device environment. Hands-on electronic troubleshooting experience; fluent with DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, and automated test equipment. Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and test specifications. Experience executing inspections and using precision measurement tools. Experience building, validating, or maintaining test fixtures; comfort with test software or scripting (LabVIEW, Python, Met/Cal, or equivalent) is a plus. Working knowledge of a regulated quality system (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 9001) including nonconformance, MRB, and CAPA processes or proven track record in a similarly regulated industry. Familiarity with lean / Fortive Business System problem solving: 5-Why, A3, 8D, standard work, 5S. Comfortable in ERP/MES and quality systems for records, transactions, and reporting; solid Excel and data presentation skills. Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or related technical field, military electronics training, or equivalent experience. B.

Personal / Soft

Skills Curious and methodical — chases the actual root cause rather than the convenient one. Comfortable moving between the engineering lab, the production floor, and the service bench in the same day. Clear technical communicator in writing and in front of a cross-functional group. Self-directed on priorities, with sound judgment on when to escalate. Documentation discipline — treats the record as part of the work, not after it. Work Environment, Travel & Regulatory Work environment: manufacturing, test/calibration lab, and office areas at FHS Everett.

Physical:

prolonged computer use; occasional lifting/handling of instruments and fixtures (typically up to ~25 lbs); lab bench work.

Travel:

Minimal (< 5%).

Regulatory & Quality:

all activities conform to the

FHS ISO 13485 / FDA 21 CFR 820

quality management system and applicable EHS requirements.
