Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive detail-oriented Energy Auditor/Property Maintenance to join our dynamic team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive energy audits within the public sector, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency improvements, and executing maintenance tasks as needed within rental units. With a background in building/construction maintenance you will be able identify unsafe working or living conditions, able to make those corrections in a cost-effective manner. Your expertise will help reduce energy consumption, improve operational reliability, and ensure compliance with safety & environmental standards; as well as HUD requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply technical skills in a fast-paced environment while contributing to sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities (not an all-inclusive list) Perform detailed energy audits, analyzing electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on electrical systems using schematics, electrical blueprints, and diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters. Maintain and repair HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems, ensuring optimal performance through precise diagnostics and component replacement. Conduct work in compliance with company and OSHA standards. Read electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot. Record audit data using computerized data base systems. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards by adhering to proper lockout/tagout procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment. Provide technical support for customer service inquiries related to energy efficiency or equipment troubleshooting as needed. Proven experience working in residential homes and rental apartments. Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC/R systems, electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs. Identify, communicate, and document health and safety concerns such as gas leaks, carbon monoxide, mold, and asbestos. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, calipers, and micrometers accurately. Strong analysis skills combined with excellent problem-solving abilities for complex technical issues. Good command of English for effective communication across teams; customer service skills are a plus. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards. Some workday travel is required with company vehicle, home every night.
