Position Summary The Energy Engineer is a high-impact, client-facing role at the core of Wasmer Company's value delivery model. This professional partners directly with large manufacturing and commercial clients to identify, design, and implement facility optimization solutions that measurably reduce energy consumption, increase operational throughput, and strengthen sustainability outcomes. Working within a collaborative, team-based engagement model, the Energy Engineer guides client decision-makers through a structured discovery and implementation process—translating technical insights into actionable improvements with verified, finance-grade results. Perform detailed facility surveys to identify optimization opportunities; collect and analyze data required for accurate proposal development and project design. Assist clients in accessing third-party financing, utility rebate programs, and applicable incentive structures that support project economics. Drive program delivery against defined KPIs and project timelines, demonstrating strong ownership and proactive follow-through at every engagement phase. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through consistent, proactive communication with both prospective and existing clients. Maintain high-quality client communication through routine progress reports that quantify project performance, verified savings, and client satisfaction metrics. Leverage MaintainX standardized workflows and procedures to ensure consistency, auditability, and efficiency across all engineering activities; maintain complete, current records in the company's CRM platform. Plan and execute technology demonstrations for Wasmer Company and Tactik Lighting solutions, effectively showcasing product performance to client stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with the Client Project Management Team and internal peers to ensure that client needs are addressed with technical accuracy and organizational alignment. Ensure all proposals satisfy client objectives while meeting or exceeding approved sales margins; resolve client concerns systematically, escalating to management when appropriate. Build and maintain relationships with third-party industry influencers—manufacturers, incentive management entities, and trade alliances—to remain current on product developments, market trends, and emerging technologies. Travel Requirements This role requires routine regional travel to client facilities, primarily within the greater Sheboygan area and surrounding region: Reedsburg, WI, St. Cloud, MN, Tell City, IN, Sheboygan, WI. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. How Success is Measured Performance in this role is evaluated against the following criteria: Identification and quantification of facility optimization solutions that improve safety, productivity, operational efficiency, and resource utilization Expansion of the optimization opportunity pipeline within existing client accounts Achievement of project-specific KPIs and company-wide business development targets Accurate assessment of client business objectives, resulting in proposals that address actual needs at or above approved margin thresholds Quality and completeness of site analyses; effectiveness of internal and external communication and presentation of findings Sustained high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and referral Required Qualifications Minimum two (2) years of client-facing experience, preferably within energy-related industries, manufacturing, or facilities engineering Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with facility optimization platforms such as Energy Star® Portfolio Manager, HOBOware, or Wonderware/AVEVA, or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire proficiency in equivalent tools Valid driver's license and ability to travel to regional client locations Preferred Experience & Competencies Hands-on experience with energy efficiency technologies including LED lighting systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), compressed air optimization, and HVAC systems Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous process improvement methodologies Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong organizational discipline Self-directed, client-centric orientation with a proven track record of building and sustaining positive professional relationships Education The following credentials are valued and may strengthen candidacy: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred. Equivalent professional experience in a directly relevant discipline will be considered. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Project Management Professional (PMP) Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) participation Professional Engineer (PE) licensure Compensation & Benefits Compenmsation based on level and verified experience. Overtime eligible per applicable law. Level and rate reviewed at 90-day and annual performance milestones.
