Job Summary RioTech is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Signaling Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across multiple aspects of railroad signal engineering, including design, project support, documentation, and system development. The Signaling Engineer will support the design and implementation of signal and highway crossing systems while collaborating with internal teams, customers, and industry partners to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities
Design and develop logic-based railroad signaling systems
Develop wayside signal systems and highway grade crossing warning systems to customer specifications
Support signal block design development using train performance criteria, runtime analysis, and operational requirements
Utilize engineering design review tools, document control systems, and project management software
Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and engineering deliverables
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a team-oriented environment
Provide project and engineering support across multiple active assignments
Assist with additional engineering and operational tasks as assigned Requirements Required
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
4+ years of experience in railroad signals and communications projects
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD platforms (or willingness to learn)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver's license
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future Preferred
Prior railroad signal engineering experience
Experience with rail transit or freight railroad signaling systems
