  • Meter Engineering, you'll lead innovative metering and AMI initiatives along with Transmission intertie and Generation metering projects, turn technical ideas into practical solutions, and support reliable service for customers across the region.

Minnesota Power is looking for a collaborative engineer who can guide projects from planning and design through implementation, documentation, and continuous improvement. In this role, you'll develop and maintain engineering standards, prepare technical studies and cost estimates, evaluate emerging technologies, and serve as a trusted resource for internal partners, field teams, and customers. Success in this position requires technical curiosity, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships that deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. What You'll Do Analyze and recommend solutions that support business decisions, regulatory compliance, project feasibility, budgeting, and short
  • and long-term planning.
Build practical engineering standards and documentation that meet customer, business, technical, environmental, and cost requirements while supporting construction, operations, and maintenance. Coordinate project and asset requirements by aligning equipment, materials, cost estimates, budgets, schedules, and execution plans with established objectives and constraints. Advance innovation and continuous improvement by evaluating, adopting, and applying new and emerging technologies in metering and AMI systems. Be a go-to technical resource by providing cross-functional support, sharing knowledge, delivering training, and mentoring others within your areas of expertise. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in engineering Four years or more related engineering experience OR two years of related engineering experience plus certification as an Engineer-in-Training. A master's degree in engineering may be equivalent for up to one year of related experience. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. How to Stand Out Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota Prior utility experience in systems such as AMI metering, familiarity with GIS mapping and Customer Information and Billing systems. The expected annual compensation range for this position is $82,000
  • $102,000.
Compensation offered will vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.
