Deliver secure and high availability infrastructure solutions supporting VA's mission. Serve as an operational service provider of foundational compute, storage, physical database, and client management components. Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/17/2026. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

Basic Requirements:

This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the education or experience requirement requirements for a General Engineer, GS-0801-13. A Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program OR Combination of education and experience in engineering as specified by OPM, including coursework in mathematics, physics, and engineering sciences OR Registration as a Professional Engineer by a US State, Territory, or Commonwealth. AND Specialized Experience for GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level. Specialized Experience is engineering experience with electrical and mechanical system operations supporting a data center environment. Expert knowledge of quality control and Federal codes and standards. Ability to oversee planning, budget, project development, design, construction and maintenance. Capable of applying this knowledge in solving complex problems while maintaining 24/7 data center operations.

Engineering experience with electrical and mechanical system infrastructure design and operation supporting a 24/7 data center environment.
