Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Civil Engineering preferred. 5+ years of experience in a process manufacturing environment. Proven experience leading capital (CAPEX) projects from concept and planning through execution, startup, and closeout across manufacturing operations. Demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and developing teams, with prior people management experience. Comfortable balancing strategic project leadership with a hands-on presence in the plant, working closely with operations and production teams. Ability to lead and manage multiple capital projects while driving operational improvements and supporting manufacturing objectives. Up to 50% project-based travel required. PAYS $130K-$175K

Project Engineering Manager Position Summary The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the capital expenditure portfolio and providing engineering support for the design, specification, construction, installation, and start-up of new and improved manufacturing processes, equipment, buildings, and support systems. This position manages capital projects from concept through completion while focusing on safety, quality, reliability, cost, and operational efficiency . Key Responsibilities Develop and manage the facility capital expenditure plan based on operational and business needs. Lead capital projects from scope development and cost justification through installation and start-up . Develop project budgets, schedules, cost-benefit analyses, and capital expenditure justifications. Create equipment layouts, process designs, and facility specifications . Evaluate and select manufacturing equipment, vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Manage project scope, schedule, cost, and change control to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate equipment installations with contractors, suppliers, Operations, and Maintenance. Support equipment and process commissioning, start-up, and transition to Operations . Ensure projects comply with OSHA, environmental, safety, building, and construction requirements . Track project spending, purchase orders, invoices, and capital expenditures. Lead and prioritize engineering projects and allocate appropriate resources. Provide direction, performance feedback, and development to engineering team members. Troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment and process issues. Drive OEE, production efficiency, yield, reliability, and process improvement initiatives . Develop operator and maintenance training for new equipment and processes. Support development of preventive/corrective maintenance programs and critical spare parts inventories . Identify and implement improvements that reduce waste, downtime, and non-value-added activities . Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required ; Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Civil Engineering preferred. 5+ years of engineering experience in a process manufacturing environment . Experience with the design, specification, acquisition, installation, and start-up of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes . Strong capital project management, budgeting, scheduling, and cost-control experience . Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with limited supervision. Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project . #IND1
