Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO) About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale our Medium Voltage Engineering team in Addison, IL. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who bridges the gap between design engineering and physical manufacturing for medium-voltage switchgear, controls, and power distribution systems. You will guide projects through their entire lifecycle—from customer specifications and design release through shop-floor fabrication, testing, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and designers, driving accountability and engineering excellence.

Technical Guidance:

Provide leadership on medium-voltage (metal-clad and metal-enclosed) switchgear, control schemes, protection/relaying, and metering.

Floor Collaboration:

Spend active time on the manufacturing floor resolving engineering challenges, ensuring design-for-manufacturability, and streamlining production.

Project Execution:

Manage schedules, bills of materials (BOMs), drawing releases, and engineering workloads to hit delivery dates.

Cross-Functional Partnership:

Collaborate closely with operations, sales, manufacturing, and sister-facility engineering teams.

Qualifications Technical Experience:

Strong background in medium-voltage switchgear (5 kV-38 kV), power distribution equipment, or engineered-to-order electrical systems.

Leadership Experience:

3-5+ years in an engineering leadership, project management, or technical supervisory capacity.

Manufacturing Interface:

Demonstrated success partnering directly with plant operations to resolve assembly and testing issues.

Industry Standards:

Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, and NEMA switchgear standards.

Systems:

Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP is a strong plus).

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent industry experience).

Pay:

$120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
