Project Engineer, Capital Projects VALiNTRY is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to plan, develop, and execute capital improvement projects from initial concept through final completion. This position will manage an annual capital budget of approximately $1 million and above while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals. The Project Engineer will partner with operations, maintenance, finance, contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants to deliver successful project outcomes. The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 per year. However, if you possess additional valuable skill sets that could benefit the enterprise, you may be eligible for higher compensation. Key Responsibilities Identify, scope, and prioritize capital projects based on operational needs, equipment condition, and strategic objectives. Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, return on investment analyses, and risk assessments. Develop project charters, preliminary designs, and capital funding requests. Lead projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and closeout. Prepare detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Manage contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants. Ensure work complies with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and professional services. Conduct site inspections to monitor project progress, quality, and safety. Manage an annual capital budget of approximately $1 million and above. Track project costs, approve invoices, and maintain accurate financial records. Identify cost savings without compromising quality, performance, or safety. Prepare and present project updates to leadership and key stakeholders. Maintain project plans, change orders, risk logs, financial records, and closeout documentation. Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure projects are successfully integrated into the facility. Manage multiple capital projects simultaneously. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. At least 12 years of experience in project engineering or capital project management. Experience managing capital projects in manufacturing, industrial facilities, utilities, or a similar environment. Proven ability to manage multiple projects from concept through commissioning and closeout. Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, cost control, scheduling, and risk management. Experience managing contractors, vendors, and engineering firms. Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or a similar project management platform. Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering design software. Strong technical judgment and problem solving skills. Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management abilities.
