Salary:
$235,000-$290,000 annually

Full consideration through September 30, 2026 Position Overview The Board of Trustees of Rowan College at Burlington County invites applications and nominations for an accomplished, collaborative, and forward‑looking executive to serve as the next President of the College. The President serves as RCBC's chief executive officer and provides strategic, academic, and operational leadership aligned with the College's mission and the strategic direction established by the Board. Working closely with trustees, faculty, staff, students, employers, community partners, and regional leaders, the President will champion academic excellence, student success, workforce development, institutional effectiveness, and long‑term financial sustainability. Key Leadership Attributes The Board seeks a President who demonstrates: A. Executive Leadership & Professional Qualifications Extensive executive leadership experience in higher education Proven ability to lead complex organizations and major institutional initiatives Exceptional judgment, communication skills, integrity, and executive presence B. Demonstrated Leadership & Performance A sustained record of measurable achievement in senior leadership roles Ability to set priorities, make timely decisions, manage change, and build effective teams Strong execution skills and commitment to organizational performance C. Commitment to Academic Quality & Student Success Deep understanding of the community college mission Commitment to high‑quality, accessible, affordable education Ability to collaborate with faculty and academic leaders to strengthen academic quality, persistence, completion, transfer, and workforce preparation D. Financial Stewardship & Institutional Effectiveness Experience with budgeting, financial management, resource allocation, and operational oversight Ability to align resources with institutional priorities Commitment to evidence‑based decision‑making and long‑term financial sustainability E. Board Governance & Executive Leadership Ability to maintain a strong, professional relationship with the Board Understanding of governance vs. administration Commitment to transparency, communication, and faithful implementation of Board policy F. Strategic Leadership, Workforce & Community Engagement Capacity for long‑range planning, innovation, and strategic thinking Ability to anticipate and respond to demographic, workforce, enrollment, and technological changes Strong relationship‑building skills with employers, partners, donors, and community organizations Current Leadership Priorities The next President will be expected to advance: Student success and academic excellence Enrollment growth and long‑term financial sustainability A responsive academic program portfolio aligned with transfer and workforce needs Workforce development and community partnerships Responsible integration of technology, AI, and digital innovation Recruitment, development, and retention of faculty and staff Institutional effectiveness, accountability, and evidence‑based decision‑making Strong Board governance and a productive Board-President partnership Accreditation, compliance, and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution
Experience:
At least 10 years of progressively responsible higher education administrative experience Proven record of increasing leadership responsibility Significant experience managing complex academic, administrative, financial, personnel, or institutional operations Demonstrated commitment to academic quality, access, and student success Integrity, judgment, and professional qualifications required of a community college CEO Skills & Attributes Student‑centered and committed to the community college mission Strong communicator and active listener Innovative, intellectually curious, and forward‑looking Collaborative yet decisive Visible, accessible, and engaged Respectful of diverse perspectives Financially disciplined and organizationally focused Transparent, ethical, and accountable Able to build trust, confidence, and shared purpose Institutional Effectiveness The President collaborates with internal teams to support planning, assessment, data collection, and reporting that drive continuous improvement across the College.
