Ithaca, NY The Onsite Coordinator cum Design Engineer will function as the key interface between customer and offshore engineering teams. The role involves understanding customer requirements for engine timing systems, chain drive systems, tensioners, sprockets, and powertrain components, translating them into engineering deliverables, and coordinating execution through offshore design teams. The candidate will be responsible for customer engagement, requirement gathering, design reviews, engineering change management, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions from offshore teams. Act as a bridge between Customer engineering teams and offshore design centres. Break down customer requirements into engineering work packages. Assign and monitor design activities for offshore CAD and engineering resources. Conduct daily/weekly project review meetings with offshore teams. Ensure adherence to customer standards, BorgWarner processes, and project timelines. Review engineering deliverables before submission to customers. Manage workload prioritization, resource planning, and issue escalation. Drive closure of engineering queries and facilitate knowledge transfer. Design and develop automotive timing drive and powertrain system components. Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using NX. Support DFMEA, DVP&R, and design validation activities. Prepare engineering release documentation and BOMs.
