What You'll Do As the Design Team Manager , you'll play a key leadership role in the planning, design, and delivery of BJWSA projects. Working closely with the Engineering Department and a variety of internal and external stakeholders, you'll oversee the design of projects.
Key responsibilities include:
✅ Managing engineering design activities ✅ Overseeing drafting and design standards across CAD platforms, including AutoCAD ✅ Maintaining BJWSA construction details and technical specifications ✅ Reviewing easements, plans, permits, calculations, and engineering deliverables ✅ Coordinating project schedules and technical collaboration among consultants, contractors, developers, and BJWSA staff ✅ Supporting permit applications and bid document development ✅ Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with approved plans and regulatory requirements What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Minimum of five (5) years of engineering and project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong technical expertise in: Civil and site design Water and wastewater systems Hydraulics and pump stations Utility infrastructure engineering South Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Surveyor license, or the ability to obtain licensure within 12 months Preferred Qualifications Three (3) or more years of experience leading, mentoring, training, and developing staff Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and consulting engineers Proven leadership and organizational skills in a fast-paced project environment Why BJWSA?
