(Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) Job Summary Cayman Construction is seeking an experienced, IICRC-certified Water Damage & Mold Remediation Technician to support an active project in Countryside, IL. This is a temporary-to-permanent, full-time position for a self-motivated technician who can work independently at a remote customer job site, follow strict safety and containment protocols, and deliver high-quality water mitigation and mold remediation work. The initial project schedule requires six days per week, including required overtime, with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance and ongoing project needs. Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site assessments of water-damaged and mold-affected structures, materials, and contents.
• Execute water extraction, structural drying, and dehumidification in accordance with

IICRC S500

standards.

• Set up and maintain containment barriers and negative air pressure systems for mold remediation in accordance with

IICRC S520

standards.

• Safely remove, bag, and dispose of mold-contaminated and water-damaged materials per applicable regulations.
• Apply antimicrobial treatments, biocides, and encapsulants as required by the remediation plan.
• Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain remediation equipment, including extractors, air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers/negative air machines, moisture meters, and thermo-hygrometers.
• Take and record moisture readings, photographs, and job progress documentation to support project files and insurance claims.
• Load, transport, and unload equipment, tools, and materials at the job site.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and other trades on site.
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations, company safety policies, and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators.
• Work unassisted and independently at a remote customer job site with minimal direct supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site at all times.
• Complete required paperwork, work orders, and job documentation accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with project supervisors and other crew members to meet project timelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the project supervisor. Required Qualifications
• Current

IICRC AMRT

(Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) certification — required.

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in water damage mitigation and/or mold remediation.
• Previous OSHA safety training.
• Physical ability to work unassisted at a remote customer job site.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and to submit to periodic, random follow-up drug testing throughout employment.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
• Willingness to submit to all pre-employment screening as a condition of employment.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and a 6-day workweek as required by project demands.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Countryside, IL job site.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with insurance restoration documentation and estimating software (e.g., Xactimate, Matterport, or similar).
• Prior experience working temporary-to-permanent or project-based remediation assignments.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Physical Requirements
• Regularly lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50-75 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
• Climb ladders and work at heights as needed.
• Work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces, attics, and basements.
• Wear PPE, including respirators, for extended periods.
• Tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, dust, mold spores, and cleaning chemicals.
• Perform repetitive motions and sustained physical exertion throughout a full shift. Work Environment
• Work is performed primarily at customer residential and/or commercial job sites, not in an office setting.
• Exposure to water-damaged and mold-affected environments is expected.
• Work may occur indoors or outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Use of PPE (respirators, gloves, protective suits, eye protection) is required in designated areas.
• Some work may occur in occupied customer homes or businesses, requiring professionalism and discretion. Pre-Employment & Ongoing Screening Requirements

• Completion of any additional pre-employment screening requested by the company as a condition of employment. Compensation & Schedule

Pay:

$20.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience and certification.

Classification:

Non-exempt (hourly); overtime paid at 1.5× the regular rate for hours worked beyond 40 per week, in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Schedule:

Full-time; initial project schedule is 6 days per week, with required overtime as project needs dictate. Schedule may adjust as the project progresses.
