Housing Stipend Available Focus:

The Safety Engineer Intern assists the EH&S team with safety investigations, training development, and ergonomic assessments to promote a safe and healthy work environment.

What You'll Do:

Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, to be defined at the beginning of the rotation based on department and business need. Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions Assist in developing new hire training and participate in FMEA discussions with cross-functional groups Conduct ergonomic assessments using software and NIOSH techniques to support workplace safety improvements

What You'll Bring:

Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering degree program Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations. Experience in ammunition and firearms with a knowledge of shooting sports industry is preferred Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 completed credit hours) prior to first rotation with Olin Ability to work full-time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) during rotation; Not eligible for virtual work This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives
