GSH is hiring a Utility Engineer in Redondo Beach, CA.

UTILITY ENGINEER

Utility engineer to perform the following duties under the direction of the

Chief, Assistant Chief or Journeyman Engineer:

(1) Repairs on toilet facilities including soap dispensers. (2) Clearing drains by means of plunger and handheld auger. (3) Perform general labor, such as carrying, stacking, and sorting of materials used in and around the job site, as well as debris removal. (4) Using Employer supplied vehicle, travel for parts and supplies. (5) Repairs on registers and radiators. (6) Minor repairs on furniture and floors. (7) Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware. (8) Repair of floor maintenance equipment and venetian blinds. (9) Maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other touch up in building facilities. (10) General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units. (11) Clean up job site and equipment by means of vacuum, mop, broom, floor scrubber, waxer, steam cleaner, high pressure spray cleaner, as well as other types of cleaning devices or equipment. (12) Cleaning and painting of non-operating mechanical equipment which has been shut down, locked out and tagged by a Journeyman Engineer in accordance with Article XX; Safety Lockout Program. (13) Miscellaneous handyman work requiring the limited use of hand tools. Utility engineer may perform the following limited duties without direct supervision of the

Chief, Assistant Chief or Journeyman Engineer:

(1) Cleaning roof drains, air vents, registers and radiators. (2) Replacing lamps and cleaning light fixtures. (3) Maintenance of toilet facilities, excluding energized systems. (4) Replacing ceiling tiles not affecting fire sprinkler systems and other energized systems. (5) Minor repairs of furniture and floors. (6) Replacing air filters. (7) Cleaning of engineering shop areas. (8) Replacing fire extinguishers. (9) Hanging framed objects not requiring the use of power tools other than cordless drill/drivers.

$25.00 - $39.00 per hour
