Travel:

Up to 25% Position Overview We are seeking a Facilities Engineer with strong Building Automation System (BAS) and HVAC experience to support building systems and facilities projects across multiple sites. This position will serve as a technical resource for building automation systems throughout the system lifecycle, including design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and optimization. The Facilities Engineer will work closely with facility teams, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to maintain reliable building operations and support BAS-related projects. Responsibilities Provide technical support for Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and other facility systems. Review and mark up drawings, specifications, and equipment or system designs for BAS projects. Support BAS engineering, design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, and system optimization. Manage or provide oversight for small to moderately sized BAS projects and project milestones from concept through execution. Coordinate and oversee contractors performing BAS installation, programming, and related work. Create, review, and execute commissioning documentation. Inspect and test pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and digital control equipment. Troubleshoot BAS, HVAC, and other building-system issues and help identify root causes and corrective actions. Support continuous improvement of BAS standards, procedures, and system performance. Provide BAS operational support and training to maintenance and facilities personnel. Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, facility personnel, and other project stakeholders. Support project activities including RFPs, bid documentation, purchase orders, and capital expenditure requests. Document maintenance work, troubleshooting activities, root causes, and resolutions in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Participate in long-term BAS planning, equipment lifecycle planning, technology evaluation, and risk mitigation. Work in controlled or cleanroom environments as required. Provide occasional off-hours onsite or remote support when needed. Travel up to 25%, primarily between facilities in Colorado, Arizona, and California. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in building automation, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building systems, or an advanced degree . Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara Building Automation Systems . Experience with BAS design, installation, commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems. Experience supporting the operation and maintenance of building systems. Experience managing projects or significant project milestones. Experience coordinating and managing contractors or external vendors. Ability to troubleshoot building automation and mechanical-system issues. Preferred Qualifications Tridium/Niagara BAS certification. Experience with Honeywell and/or Distech building automation systems. Experience with CMMS platforms. EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification. Experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, schematics, and technical specifications. Experience with BAS communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks. Experience with integrated building systems such as temperature controls, critical-environment monitoring, power management, alarming, lighting controls, or facility access controls. Spanish language proficiency is a plus. Work Environment This position is primarily onsite and may involve work in controlled or cleanroom environments. Travel of up to 25% may be required based on project and business needs.
