Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Engineer to join our dynamic operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the mechanical, electrical, and automation systems within our manufacturing facility. Your expertise will ensure the continuous operation of critical equipment, promote safety standards, and improve overall facility performance. The ideal candidate provides technical leadership for facility infrastructure and critical utilities that support regulated medical device manufacturing. This role drives reliable, compliant, safe, and cost-effective facility operations through project execution, system optimization, contractor oversight, and cross-functional partnership. This is a one year+ contract position and salary is 104K. Scope of Role

• Supports site infrastructure, critical utilities, facility systems, and regulated manufacturing operations.
• Leads projects, technical troubleshooting, contractor execution, compliance readiness, and reliability improvements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Facility Projects, Technical Execution & Reliability

• Lead facility capital and expense projects, including renovations, equipment installations, infrastructure upgrades, commissioning, validation, and change control.
• Serve as SME for critical facility systems, assess performance and reliability risks, and review engineering designs for operational, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Improve uptime through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, preventive maintenance optimization, asset lifecycle planning, and reliability-focused improvements. Contractor, Compliance & Documentation Management
• Manage contractors, consultants, engineers, and service providers to meet scope, safety, schedule, quality, and compliance expectations.
• Ensure facility systems and project work comply with regulatory, environmental, safety, quality, permit, and site requirements.
• Maintain controlled engineering documentation and communicate project status, facility performance, reliability metrics, and technical justifications. Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Support
• Identify and implement cost savings, energy reduction, sustainability, reliability, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, EBS, EHS, and site teams on audits, inspections, technical escalation, training, procedural readiness, and production-impacting facility issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility engineering, facilities operations, or infrastructure project support within a manufacturing, regulated, or technically complex environment.
• Experience with project cost estimating, budget tracking, CAD/drawing review, and facility capacity or infrastructure planning.

Critical Skills, Experience & Success Factors:

• Strong facility engineering knowledge across utilities, infrastructure, drawings, CAD review, CMMS, regulated documentation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, commissioning, qualification, and change control.
• Experience in regulated or technically complex manufacturing environments, including project execution, contractor oversight, audits, validation, cost estimating, budget tracking, and stakeholder communication.
• Ability to maintain reliable, compliant facility systems while supporting infrastructure planning, minimizing downtime, balancing priorities, and delivering safe, cost-effective solutions.

• Building automation, alarm, environmental monitoring, or facility control systems.
• Emergency response, shutdown coordination, contingency planning, or recovery support for facility or utility interruptions.
• Building codes, fire/life safety requirements, permits, inspections, or local authority requirements.

Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation issues using schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools. Conduct electrical diagnostics utilizing voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments. Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including HVAC/R units, ensuring optimal climate control within the facility. Operate and maintain industrial equipment such as scissor lifts and other lifting devices safely and efficiently. Read electrical blueprints and schematics to facilitate accurate troubleshooting and repairs. Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders, maintenance history, and inventory levels. Diagnose issues with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and implement solutions for automation system reliability. Perform welding tasks using stick welding techniques to repair or fabricate metal components as needed. Support industrial mechanic activities including hydraulic system repairs, equipment troubleshooting, and component replacements. Assist in maintaining compliance with safety standards by adhering to electrical codes and industrial regulations. Collaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades or modifications to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements Proven experience working in manufacturing facilities with a strong focus on industrial maintenance. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage wiring, electrical troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation. Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, HVAC/R units, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical repairs. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and schematics for troubleshooting complex systems. Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance management. Ability to read technical drawings including electrical blueprints and schematics accurately. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and engineering troubleshooting techniques. Skilled in welding (stick welding) and mechanical repairs involving precision measuring instruments. Strong analysis skills coupled with customer service orientation to communicate effectively across teams. Industrial electrician experience is highly desirable along with knowledge of electrical maintenance standards. Ability to operate scissor lifts safely while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to equipment troubleshooting and repair.
