Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Operating Engineer to support the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in a Class A office and life science environment. Our team is looking for a professional who brings strong technical ability, excellent communication skills, and a client-facing approach to help keep building systems running smoothly and tenant needs addressed quickly.
Responsibilities:
Perform assigned maintenance tasks including painting, pressure washing, lighting repairs, plumbing, HVAC support, water treatment, locksmith work, and general maintenance within licensing requirements. Support the preventative maintenance program and help maintain reliable building operations across key systems. Manage the work order system daily and complete tenant service requests in a timely and professional manner. Assist with technical troubleshooting, on-call or emergency response situations, and ongoing training and supervision efforts for the engineering team.
Required:
5-10 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry. Experience in a life-science/lab or medical office setting is preferred, but not required. Trade school education, union training, military service, or college is desirable. Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving it within the first year with support from the company. Leadership or supervisory experience. Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall. Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive, with strong customer service skills.
