Job Description:
The Department of Business, Aviation, and Construction Professions (BACP) at DCC invites applications for Adjunct Faculty in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). The department is searching for instructors for the Fall 2026 semester to teach the following courses(s): HVA 101
Air Conditioning & Refrigeration 1 Lecture (3 contact hours/week) Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11am
12:15pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2pm
3:15pm Mondays and Wednesdays, 5pm
6:15pm HVA 101
Air Conditioning & Refrigeration 1 Lab (6 contact hours/week) Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30am
12:20pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2pm
4:50 pm HVA 104
Theory of Heating Lecture (3 contact hours/week) Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30am
10:45am HVA 104
Theory of Heating Lab (3 contact hours/week) Mondays, 1pm
3:50pm HVA 201
HVAC Controls Lecture (3 contact hours/week) Mondays and Wednesdays, 11am
3:50pm All of the sections available are taught in the Traditional method, with all in-person classes taking place at our DCC@Fishkill location, the Center of Excellence for Business, Industry, and Innovation (COEBII).
Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in HVAC, HVAC-R, or a closely related area and/or a minimum of 8 years of experience in the HVAC-R field. Official transcripts required upon hire. 2+ years of successful teaching, training, or closely related experience. Current EPA Section 608 certification. OSHA safety certification (10-hour or 30-hour). Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in HVAC-R, or a closely related field. Experience teaching at the college level, particularly at a community college. Current North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification. OSHA 500-level course completion and be an Authorized OSHA Trainer. Demonstrated competencies in a variety of teaching methodologies and/or pedagogical approaches that reach a broad range of learners. An understanding an appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education. Experience in using instructional technology in the classroom and a willingness to adopt new and emerging technologies. Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, or Canvas. A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction.

Working Conditions:
The performance of this work is primarily in-person on-site. These courses are held at DCC@Fishkill, the Center of Excellence for Business, Industry, and Innovation (COEBII). These courses are held in the daytime and the evenings.
Classification:
Dutchess United Educators (DUE), Part-Time Educator Part-Time faculty positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Dutchess Community College (DCC) and Dutchess United Educations (DUE).
Salary:
At negotiated rate, starting at: $1,499 per contact hour (Instructor, Step 1)
