Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Perform all essential functions of Class III Engineer plus special skills in a particular trade: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC. (50%) Perform all essential functions of Class III Engineer. (40%) Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas. (5%) Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased. (3%) Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering. (2%)
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
None.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:
Education:
High school diploma, plus two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction.
Experience:
Minimum four years experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintenance.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills.

May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment. No.

None.
Travel Required:
Limited, local travel upon request.
Hours Required:
Scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying Describe the type(s) of required lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying to include objects, weights and frequency. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying required to perform inspections and repairs anywhere in or out of hotel property. Bending/Kneeling Describe the type(s) of required bending and/or kneeling to include when, why and how often. Frequent bending and kneeling required to inspect and repair. No kneeling. Mobility Describe the type(s) of mobility required to include distances and % of time involved. 100% mobility required in all areas of hotel property and grounds. Continuous Standing Describe the reasons to include time period and frequency. No Continuous Standing Required. Climbing Stairs Up to approx. 90 steps 10% of 8 hours.
Ladders:
Up to approx, 8 feet 20% of 8 hours Driving Describe type of vehicle, distances, % of time involved and frequency. 10% of 8 hour day required to drive company pick-up truck. Work Environment -
Inside:
90% of 8 hours.
Outside:
10% of 8 hours.

5 to 95 degrees.

To hear portable radio, alarms, guests.
Vision:

Visually inspect and maintain equipment.

Respond to portable radio to base, guests.

Moderate Explain:
Read instructions and repair manuals.
Chemicals/Agents:
Describe any chemicals/agents to include what they are, warnings and frequency of use. Frequency depends upon job assignment. Painter would use painting chemicals 90% of time, electric job may not require any.
Protective Clothing:
None Required. Equipment Operation List type of equipment and frequency of use. Electric saws, and hand tools.
