SUMMARY OF ROLE COMPENSATION
$60k•80k We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Engineering Technician to join our manufacturing team in Northlake. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical equipment, including Bag-in-Box (BiB) fillers and related components, ensuring all assemblies meet quality standards and engineering specifications. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and the capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative manufacturing team. You will also have opportunities to support electrical field activities and light machining projects while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an at-will employer, SIG reserves the right to add to or modify this list to the extent it deems necessary. Collaborate with the Head of Sales Operations to understand forecasting bottlenecks and inconsistencies to improve sales team's performance Assemble mechanical equipment, machinery, and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate assembly and proper fitment of parts. Perform inspections and quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. Operate hand tools, power tools, and assembly machinery safely and effectively. Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues during assembly activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve assembly processes and product quality. Document assembly activities, including labor time, materials used, and issues encountered. Follow company safety procedures and actively participate in safety training programs.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training, vocational education, or certification in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly or a similar role within manufacturing or industrial environments. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures. Commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning.
