Position Purpose The purpose of this position is to ensure all corrosion control and cathodic protection systems are maintained and comply with US regulations and our Integrity Management Plan for over 100 miles of pipeline. Position Description - Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct various tests, measurements, and assist in surveys to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of corrosion control equipment and procedures.
• Ensure 3rd party contractors complete assigned work activities in a timely manner
• Document all related work associated with performing and maintaining regulatory compliance and operating and maintenance procedures.
• Support pipeline integrity activities including running in-line inspection tools (caliper, metal loss, ultrasonic, crack, etc.) and performing required CP readings during pipeline maintenance.
• Perform coating evaluations for atmospheric corrosion control.
• Respond to callouts and emergencies during and outside regular business hours.
• Direct and in-direct support during regulatory inspections and audits.
• Inspect and monitor 3rd party construction / work activities.
• Other duties as assigned. Competencies/Skills
• Must obtain (in one year's time from hiring date) an

AMPP/NACE CP 1

Certification (Cathodic Protection Tester) and maintain CP1 certification through training and learning to improve technical competence

• Proficient and safe at using hand and power tools.
• Have a mechanical or electrical background and experience using construction equipment
• Can lift 70lbs as well as stoop, bend, and kneel
• Have a good driving record as well as pass a D.O.T. physical as well as a drug and alcohol screen
• Can be consistent with applicable laws and follow strict safety and technical protocols
• Able to work independently after initial training and has basic knowledge of computers and data entry.
• A proven, strong focus on workplace safety
• Understanding of technology, equipment, and materials used in corrosion control and prevention systems common to pipeline systems.
• Familiarity with AMPP/NACE, industry-related, and USDOT standards and guidelines
• Ability to quickly comprehend technical requirements and issues and resolve them to meet company and project requirements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, piping, and construction drawings.
• Stay up to date with best practices through industry seminars and local committees.
• Proficient in mathematics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry related to corrosion control.
• Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, corrosion related portions of AMPP/NACE and NEC. Work Environment
• Required work is year-round in all weather conditions.
• While daily activities may be based out of an office environment, there will be travel to various locations on the pipeline. While project work is being performed there will be extended periods of time working along the pipeline ROW.
• There will be periods that require more than 40 hours per week, including weekends. Physical Demands
• Working with electrical components can be dangerous and requires mandatory safe work practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect workers from potential work-related hazards.

Field activities can include entry into confined spaces, navigating amongst field equipment and piping, and ladder/stair access to structural platforms. Workers should have manual dexterity and the ability to lift 20 pounds.

• A driver's license and valid passport are required as our corrosion control systems are in remote rural locations within the US and Canada. Other industry requirements, such as operating an all-terrain vehicle, may be necessary.
• Ability to walk long distances, and traverse elevated/wet/dry/uneven ground in all weather conditions. Programs/Equipment Used
• Position requires significant use of a computer, voltmeter, multimeter, reference electrodes, and soil meter.
• Computer programs utilized can include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), Microsoft Project, Google Earth, ESRI ArcGIS, databases, and various web-based applications. Required Education and Experience
• A two-year technical degree in Corrosion Technology, electricity, electronics, engineering (or eng. technology), liquid/gas pipelines, or equivalent from an approved and accredited college/university.
• Related and approved work experience may substitute for a two-year technical degree
• A clean driving record is required. Preferred Education and Experience
• 4-year College degree (may be replaced with approved education and applicable experience)
• Current AMPP or other applicable industry certifications
• Working knowledge of various pipeline regulations and practices (including integrity management).
• Working knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of coating projects.
• Ability to effectively manage priorities while working under deadline requirements.
• Pipeline and/or facilities construction knowledge or experience
• Training in pipeline safety, first aid, confined spaces, H2S safety, defensive driving, etc.
