Full Job Description Purpose:
The Engineering Technician is a key support role in the Electrical Performance Products group. This is a technical role that requires extensive product knowledge, good organizational skills and good communication skills. Overall responsibility This position will serve as the primary technical resource responsible for responding to customer technical inquiries, product performance testing, process improvement, and updating technical documentation. This position will support Mar-Bal's Proprietary business and will play a key role in helping to achieve our mission to grow the business through the following responsibilities: Key areas of responsibility
Provide technical support to Customer Service and customers via phone, email, chat, or hubspot systems
Document customer interactions, issues, and resolutions in the support system
Escalate complex or unresolved issues to engineering or senior support staff
Troubleshoot product issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions
Reproduce customer-reported issues for testing and validation
Assist with product development, revisions and updates
Create and maintain support documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles
Assist in developing test plans, procedures, and validation protocols for new products
Perform mechanical and electrical testing in accordance with established procedures
Accurately record, analyze, and report test results
Follow all laboratory safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Assist EPP business unit with research, experiments, and special projects
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Document procedures and maintain laboratory logs and records Education, skills and experience
Associates degree in technical discipline or technical education (e.g., technical diploma, vocational training, or apprenticeship) or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2-5 yrs. experience in a technical role in a manufacturing-oriented company
Experience following test plans, with the ability to analyze, interpret and present the results in a clear, concise manner
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting; familiarity with project tracking and document management tools preferred.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet established project schedules
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work effectively in a multi-location, cross-functional team
Occasional travel (up to 20%) may be required
