Senior / Lead Systems Engineer - Space HardwarePosition Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Systems Engineer to lead the technical execution of complex space and aerospace hardware programs from initial concept through design, manufacturing, testing, verification, and final delivery. This position will serve as a key technical leader across multidisciplinary engineering teams, helping translate customer and program objectives into system-level requirements and executable engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in space or aerospace hardware development, mechanical systems, systems engineering, and technical leadership . Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical lead for assigned programs and engineering projects. Lead systems-level engineering activities throughout the complete product lifecycle, from concept through production and delivery. Translate customer and product objectives into system-level requirements and engineering specifications. Coordinate across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, analysis, test, and other engineering disciplines. Maintain technical integrity of the product and serve as a primary escalation point for technical issues. Lead and participate in engineering design reviews. Develop and review system requirements, verification plans, validation procedures, and acceptance test procedures. Maintain requirements traceability and ensure requirements are successfully verified through analysis and testing. Evaluate system performance through engineering analysis, testing, and technical performance measures. Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, non-conformance investigations, and corrective actions. Review and approve technical drawings, engineering documentation, specifications, and reports. Work closely with program management to maintain alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, and customer expectations. Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering team members. Interface directly with customers and provide technical presentations and project updates. Support the development and improvement of engineering standards, processes, and best practices. Participate in long-range product planning and emerging technology development. Support business development and proposal activities when required. Travel approximately 10-15% as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline . 8+ years of engineering experience involving the design, development, manufacturing, and/or testing of aerospace or other complex production hardware. Strong systems engineering experience within a hardware-focused environment. Experience leading engineering teams, programs, or complex technical projects. Experience with spacecraft, satellites, space hardware, aerospace hardware, mechanical systems, or mechanisms . Working knowledge of CAD and product data management (PDM) systems. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and

principles . Experience developing or working with system requirements, verification, validation, and testing. Experience troubleshooting technical problems and participating in root cause analysis. Ability to communicate complex technical information to engineering teams, program leadership, customers, and other stakeholders. Strong technical documentation and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following is beneficial but not required: SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation PDM Pro or similar PDM/PLM systems ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Thermal Desktop Spacecraft or space mechanism design Flight hardware development and qualification Composite structures, including graphite or fiberglass composites Photovoltaic or solar-array systems Flexible circuits or printed circuit board assemblies Aerospace environmental testing and verification
