Job description As a pb2 fire protection designer, you will be part of a team designing and producing construction documents for retail, grocery, convenience stores, fuel stations and commercial buildings. You will apply basic to intermediate engineering/architecture principles to complete design computations, prepare written technical reports, produce design documents and details. You will work with the Project Engineer to make project decisions based upon factors such as client requirements, building constraints, and local regulations. This is a salaried, full time position working in our office located in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. A remote work option is available to candidates based on experience and suitability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in one of the following preferred: Fire Protection Safety, Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Architectural Engineering Prefer two or more years experience in fire protection design with degree Minimum five years experience in fire protection design without Bachelor's degree NICET Certification preferred Mechanical Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) registration Desire to achieve PE license if not licensed Strong written and verbal communication skills Multi-tasking and time management skills Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD AutoSPRINK, SolidWorks, HydraCAD, SprinkCAD acceptable Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, Microsoft Teams Valid driver's license required Work Visa Sponsorship will not be provided Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Effectively communicate with clients, owners, contractors, and all team members Prepare construction drawings and specifications for fire suppression systems. Perform engineering calculations utilizing AutoSPRINK, ensuring the concepts fall within schedule and budget for the project. Travel to perform flow tests and site surveys to assess and verify existing fire suppression systems Work with multiple project teams and disciplines to produce fully coordinated construction documents and ensure there are no conflicts or interferences between designed systems. Ensure that all design work is within the preliminary scope definition and complies with all applicable building codes and standards. Communicate appropriate information on project status, scope changes and problem areas to Fire Protection/Project Engineer. Maintain current knowledge of fire protection codes and design/construction procedures to meet changing priorities. Ability to research and resolve code issues. Select and specify fire protection equipment Construction administration (RFI's, submittal review, site observations and reporting) Promote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissions. Ability to manage project schedules and budgets.

Licensure:

We encourage our EIT's to pursue professional licensure by providing: Current library of testing/study materials $2,000 Bonus when PE license is achieved

Monday

• Friday, 8:00 AM
• 5:00 PM CST, one hour lunch from 12:00
• 1:00 PM.

Hours greater than 40 per week may be required.
